Conor Medsystems
Conor (NASD:CONR) develops stents and other medical devices as delivery platforms for controlled local and systemic delivery of a wide variety of therapeutic agents. Its proprietary technologies enable the delivery of multiple drugs or biologicals, each with a unique pharmacokinetic release profile, from a single stent. The company's initial focus is on the treatment of restenosis and vascular disease, and its first drug-eluting stent is currently in clinical trials. EHCP led certain of the company's equity financing rounds preceding Conor's successful initial public offering in December 2004. Other investors in Conor include Highland Capital Partners, Calmedica and Maverick Capital.
J&J agreed to acquire Conor in November 2006 for $1.4billion. In December 2006, Easton fully realized its investment in
Conor, generating proceeds 8.2x its initial cost.
