Renovis, Inc.
Renovis (NASD:RNVS) is a biopharmaceutical company that discovers and develops drugs to address neurological conditions and neuroinflammatory disorders. The Company's lead product in development is NXY-059, a Phase III drug for acute ischemic stroke that is partnered with AstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN). Renovis has a number of other partnerships including with Genentech and with Pfizer, the latter in the area of vanilloid receptor biology for neuropathic pain. EHCP led the $45 million round of financing which preceded Renovis' initial public offering in February 2004. Other prominent investors included Alta Partners, Venrock Associates, HealthCap, MDS Capital, Invus Group, CDIB BioScience Ventures, Skyline Ventures, Flagship Ventures and HBM BioVentures.
