It manufactures and markets the Somnoplasty system, a cost-effective, minimally invasive technique
which shrinks tissue obstructing the upper airway by applying low-energy, low-temperature
radiofrequency in an outpatient environment. Somnus was acquired by the Gyrus Group PLC in
May, 2001 at a substantial profit to EHCP.
